Four Bangalore Tourists Dead In Accident

Shimla: Four persons from Bangalore who were coming to Shimla from Delhi died and three others are injured, two of them critically, in an accident when the (Travera) vehicle in which they were traveling lost control and went off the road, hurling down the hillside near Vaknaghat, about 20 kilometers from here, on Friday morning.

The police team involved in the rescue and relief operations over phone told My Himachal News that while Nalini (30) wife of Manju Prasad (32) and KC Natrajan died on the spot, Manisha (9) daughter of Manju Prasad died on the way to hospital. Later in the day, Prasad succumbed to his injuries at the Solan District Hospital.

Kalawati (35), wife of Natrajan and Nikhil (16), their son, are critically injured and have been shifted to PGI Chandigarh. Nassir, the driver of the vehicle number UVZ-005-0924 from Delhi is among the survivors, police from the Kandhaghat police station said.

The two families are said to be from Bangalore and were coming to Shimla when the accident occurred at about 10.30 in the morning, the police said.

The address Manju Prasad’s family that died in the accident as recorded by the police is that of House No 1394, 7th Main Road, Raj Rajeshwari Nagar, BEML Complex, Bangalore.

The address of KC Natarajan family which the police told MH News Service is Raj Rajeshwari Nagar, BEML Complex (Near New Horizon School), Banglore.

The address of the driver Nassir is Soni Vihar, 3rd Bhasti, Delhi – 94

Cause of the accident could not be immediately ascertained. “It appears the driver either lost control or there has been some mechanical failure. The matter is under investigation and a case has been registered,” the police said.
