‘Post Matric Scholarship’ in Himachal for BPL students

Shimla: Keeping in view the meritious students in the economically weaker sections of minority communities the Ministry of Minority Affairs has introduced a scheme called “Post Matric Scholarship”. The scheme is for the benefit of these students to pursue higher education from class XI upto Ph.D and technical or vocational courses that are affiliated with NCVT in Government school/college/Institute or school/college/Institute, which are recognized by appropriate authority, said a Social Justice and Empowerment Spokesman.

Talking further about the scheme he said that students having more than 50 percent marks in previous examination and whose parents’ or guardian’s annual income should not exceed Rs. 2 lac will be eligible for this scholarship. Students from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families, having the lowest income would be given preference and 30 percent of scholarship would be earmarked for girl students. He also said that scholarships will not be given to more than two students in a family.

Moreover, during the current financial year, 113 scholarships would be provided and 49 Muslims, 4 Christens, 30 Sikhs and 4 Buddhists will be covered under the scheme.

    As posted by Disha Singh that BPL Schemes for Himachal Students also. Iwould like to know , whether this scheme is for the hindu families also.
