It was a pleasant surprise to learn about Swan river project. Something towards progress and growth. Nothing much could be done in this resourcefully rich state for the last 40 years due to the lack of vision and organizational skills in the politicians. Himachal though had never been burdened by young generations for its employment. After seeing no employment, many leave the state and find out work for them in other states and even other countries. State has hardly been able to make out its salaries to existing employee from its revenue in the past and had been in a state of almost bankruptcy. A little industrialization started during last five years came to rescue a bit.
Unfortunately leaders do not understand the strength of state resources and as failed to drove the state on the way of progress. Their first preference is to remain a show man. Half of the legislatures do not know the income and expenditure details of the government. Chief minister obviously feel comfortable getting support of those who don’t have knowledge and vision except getting some budget on the name of development, a few transfers of friend and relations, promotions/care of some of the well wishers during the tenure.
