BADDI: The Centre for Advanced Studies in Engineering (CASE) today announced the launch of Institute of Pharmacy & Emerging Sciences (IPES) at Baddi. The CASE that was already running Institute of Engineering & Emerging Technologies (IEET) at Baddi would start B-Pharmacy classes in IPES from current academic session.Addressing a press conference at Baddi today, Mr. G.S Chadda Executive Member of CASE management said that approval to run B-Pharmacy classes has been granted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. To start with, the 60 seats have been earmarked for this four year course, he said.
Mr. Chadda said that, Dr. Susheel Khanna having experience of 37 years in teaching & industry has been appointed as principal of IPES. The Institute has appointed experienced and competitive faculty for the course to deliver dynamic and creative professionals to the fast growing pharma industry in state, he maintained. The new institute would offer state of art infrastructure to its students, he pointed out.
Dr. Susheel Khanna said that IPES with the added advantage of industrial environment would open new avenues of employment. The learning process in this B-Pharma would be highly integrated to meet the requirements of modern times. This combination of theory and practical knowledge would help pharma unit to hire right professionals.
He said the institute has been set up in pharma hub of region with a main aim to give practical exposure to the students. The Institute would strive for 100 percent job placements, he asserted.
The admission to course would be on the basis of merit in entrance test conducted by Himachal Pradesh University. T he Director Technical Education, HP would hold the counseling for admission most likely in next week. The students who have already taken admission in other pharmacy colleges of state could migrate to IPES without losing their fee as per directions of the university. The classes for new course would be started tentatively by September 17th.
