Governor stressed upon reviving ‘Guru Shishya Parampara’

V.S. Kokje, Governor gave away the Rank and Bolt Awards to the selected students and teachers of the State in a function organized by Air India and its media partner The Tribune here today. Speaking on the occasion, Kokje stressed upon reviving ‘Guru Shishya Parampara’ in this modern era and added that teachers who are working with mission and devotion must be rewarded. He said that obtaining good marks is not enough in academic life but overall development of students must be ensured by the teachers as well as parents.

He said that Public Sector Undertakings are coming forward to take up social responsibilities and appreciated Air India for honouring the teachers who were builders of the nation and students who were the future of the country. He said that the contribution of teachers was immense and awarding them would encourage others to follow their path and work with dedication. Kokje congratulated the Tribune Trust for their active participation in this noble cause.

Earlier, he gave away the State Awards to Sanjeev Attari, from Sirmaur district and Mr. Akshut Joshi from Solan district. The District Awards were given to Miss. Manu Sehgal from Sirmaur district and Mr. Akshut Joshi from Solan district.

T.K. Palit, General Manager, Air India spoke on the title ‘Today is Yesterday’s Tomorrow-Preserving for the Future’. Roopinder Singh, Assistant Editor, The Tribune and Shri Subrot Ghosal, Coordinator also spoke.
