1400 posts of medical, para-medical and supporting staff would be created for Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College at Tanda to make the institution self-contained and top centre of medical education. This was stated by Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister while addressing a public meeting at Rakkar Majherna in Rajgir assembly segment of district Kangra today. He also dedicated Rakkar Majherna augmented water supply scheme completed at a cost of Rs. 45.28 lakh to the people of the area besides laying the foundation-stone of Major Sudhir Walia, Ashoka Chakra winner,Primary Health Centre at Banuri to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 53.08 lakh.
Chief Minister said that medical college was his dream project and had envisioned it to be the best medical college and hospital in entire north India and added that Rs. 300 crore had so far been spent while an additional amount of Rs. 50 crore was being spent on procurement of machinery and equipments of world standard. This would help students avail the latest medical education facilities in the State, he added.
Earlier, Chief Minister dedicated Press Club to the journalists at Baijnath constructed at a cost of Rs. 7.25 lakh and assured that State Government would extend all possible help for furnishing the Club to facilitate the journalists in performing their duties more conveniently.
Virbhadra Singh announced upgradation of Government High School, Rakkar Majherna to Govt. Senior Secondary School which would be made functional from next academic session.
