Himachal government takes over GGDSD College Baijnath

Following the Central Disaster Management Authority Act, 2005, the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet, in order to implement the directions to constitute the State Disaster Management Authority, decided in its First Meeting held in the New Vidhan Sabha Complex at Tapovan, near Dharamshala today, to constitute the State Disaster Management Authority under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister and State Executive Committee under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary. The Deputy Commissioners of the concerned districts shall be the Chairmen of the District Disaster Management Authorities.

Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister, presided over the meeting.

The Cabinet sanctioned creation of 261 posts of different categories in various departments of the State Government which includes one post of DLR-cum-Deputy Secretary Law, two posts each of Special Private Secretaries and Senior Private Secretaries in the HP Secretariat, 45 posts of Junior Engineers in Irrigation and Public Health Department, 89 posts of Junior Engineers in the Public Works Department, 20 posts of Excise and Taxation Inspectors, 102 posts of teaching and non-teaching categories in the Education Department.

It decided to take over the G.G.D.S.D.College at Baijnath and D.A.V.College and Senior Secondary School at Daulatpur Chowk in district Una alongwith its staff.

Approval was granted to Himachal Pradesh Ground Water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Rules-2006. The Rules shall not apply over the traditional water wells.

Cabinet decided to exempt the ethanol-blended petrol from all the provisions of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914.
