Dharampur in Mandi to get Degree college

Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister, announced a Government Degree College for Dharampur and sanctioned Rs. 5 crore for the construction of the college building in a mammoth public meeting he addressed at Dharampur in Sarkaghat sub division of district Mandi today. He announced Rs. 7 crore for Kanda Pattan – Rakhoh – Awah Devi and Kanda Pattan – Sajao Piplu lift water supply schemes for completion on war footing and in a time bound manner and also assured early completion of the Harsi Pattan bridge over river Beas for which Rs. 8.71 crore had been estimated. He announced upgradation of the five high schools to senior secondary schools, namely Dev Brarta, Kothuwan, Sadhot, Kamlah and Longani; two middle schools upgradation to high school, Malyana and RasainGallu and three primary schools to middle school, Dhallara, Sihan and Rangar.

Chief Minister said that the Primary Health Centre Sajao-Piplu would also be made functional by deploying required manpower to deliver the best health services to the people besides reconstructing the Community Health Centre building at Dharampur, which he inspected today, to meet the increasing demand of the patients in the area. He assured sympathetic consideration over the other developmental demands of the area on the occasion.

Chief Minister emphasized the need for a major elaborate plan for creation of rain water harvesting structure to store the rain water of the seasonal rivulets. He said that need had emerged to collect and store the rain water for feeding the drinking water supply and irrigation schemes. He said that large number of storage dams were required to be built to store maximum of rain water which would also be beneficial in recharging the water sources in the area. He said that demand for more drinking water and irrigation facilities was on the increase which would be met with only by storing the rain water. He said that services of the experts were required to be requisitioned to prepare the detailed project report and implement the same successfully. He said that people had also been advised to incorporate rain water harvesting structures with their building plans to meet the increasing water demand.

    dharmpur is the very small college in mandi distt but styudy level is very heigh.
    so thanks to college staff.
