Laborers charred at Kullu Largi hot mix plant

Kullu: Two labourers working in a bitumen hot mix plant at Largi sustained serious burn injuries due to overflow of LED oil from the plant they were working with today morning.

At about 9:15 a.m. the two workers from Mandi district Jeevan, a resident of Bhagoli village and Chetram of Shegali village were severely burnt by the oil used to prepare a mixture of tar with pebbles for black top road surfacing purposes. burning_hand

Both the victims were rushed to regional hospital Kullu for treatment.  Lokender Negi police officer incharge at Aut station informed that Chetram has been referred to IGMC, Shimla for treatment as he has received serious burn injuries.

“Jeevan was being treated at Kullu hospital. A case section 336 of Indian Penal Code had been registered and the matter was being investigated,” said Negi.

Narrating the incident to Hill Post from his hospital bed, Jeevan said, “the two of us were working with the hot mix machine and did not notice the overflow of LED oil that poured on us, causing painful burn injuries.”
