New Delhi, June 10 (IANS) The Delhi government Monday decided to grant the Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology the status of a university, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said here.
Delhi has one other technical university – Delhi Technological University.
“We have passed the proposal of making Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology a university. This will improve the standard of education of students there,” Dikshit told reporters here.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Dikshit.
The institute is located in Dwarka in southwest Delhi.
