ISAF plane makes hard landing in Afghanistan

Kabul, May 19 (IANS) A C-130 plane with the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) made a hard landing Sunday in Afghanistan, but there were no casualties, a statement said.

The plane landed in Logar province, 60 km south of Kabul, Xinhua cited the ISAF statement as saying.

Without providing details, the statement stressed that “there are no casualties, and there was no indication of insurgent activity in the area at the time”.

In a similar incident April 22, a helicopter crashed in Logar province, following which Taliban militants captured nine people, including eight Turkish nationals onboard the chopper. They were freed after nearly two weeks in captivity.
