Indian film festival to be held in Seoul

Seoul, May 22 (IANS) An Indian film festival, where hugely popular Bollywood movies like “Lage Raho Munnabhai” will be screened, is to be held here to commemorate the 40th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between India and South Korea.

The festival will be held at CGV Yeouido, IFC Mall, May 24-28.

It has been organised by the Indian embassy with the support of CGV, the Indian tourism ministry and the Directorate of Film Festivals, a press release said .

Last month the film festival was held at Busan to packed auditoriums.

A selection of six films will be shown at this event – “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”, “Rockstar”, “Fashion”, “Veer Zaara”, “Jab We Met” and “Lage Raho Munnabhai”.

The festival will be flagged off with a brief inaugural cultural show by the Indian Cultural Centre May 24. Both the winners of the “Incredible India & Korea Times Quiz Contest” will also be felicitated at the function.

The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) was set up in 2011 in Seoul. It offers regular Yoga and dance classes by highly qualified Indian instructors, besides Hindi language classes.
