Alba hates leaving children alone

Los Angeles, April 6 (IANS) Hollywood actress Jessica Alba says she will only accept roles which are worth leaving her kids alone for. The 31-year-old admits she hates being away from her children.

The actress has two daughters – Honor, four, and 20-month-old Haven, with husband Cash Warre. She says her priority shifted from her career to her family as soon as she became a mother.

“When you have kids, you kind of think, ‘I don’t need to work just to work,'” femalefirst.co.uk quoted Alba as saying.

“I want to sink my teeth into a character that makes it worth not being with my kids, or not being at the office,” she added.

Jessica is still proud to be an actress in demand, but she insists nothing gives her greater satisfaction than being a good mother and wife.

“Having kids, having strong relationships with my husband, my friends, that it is my priority … that’s what really defines me, not a movie opening or a poster or an endorsement,” added the “Machete Kills” star.

Alba has also launched her own eco-friendly lifestyle brand The Honest Company, which sells organically-produced baby products. The motivation behind bringing out her own products was a personal concern for the welfare of her kids.

“I am not approaching it like an actress, I’m approaching it like a mom, and I just want the best for my family. You can’t really argue with that,” she said.
