Shimla: Prestigious institution, Auckland House School has been rated among India’s Top Schools in the Day, International & Residency category in a survey carried out by a Mumbai based publishing agency.

Besides the Shimla based Auckland House School, other schools given the top A+++ rating by surveying agency Mainline Media are Daly College, Indore; Delhi Public School, RK Puram Delhi; KIIT International School, Bhubaneswar; Kodaikanal International School, Kodaikanal; Lawrence School Sanawar; Loyola Public School, Guntur; Mayo College Girls School, Ajmer; Oakridge International Schools at Visakhapatnam, Mohali, Hyderabad and Bangalore;  Rishi Valley School, Chittoor; Sherwood College, Nainital; St Paul’s School, Darjeeling; Taurian World School, Ranchi; The Cambridge School, Calcutta; The Cambridge School, Guwahati; The Doon School, Dehradun; The Shri Ram School, Delhi/Gurgaon; Welham Boys School, Dehradun and Welham Girls School, Dehradun.

The Top Schools are rated based on a perception survey conducted among the public and the academicians who were asked to select and rate the top schools of their region on the basis of academic, reputation, infrastructure provision, faculty and brand value, the surveying agency has claimed.

Old structure of Auckland House School

Auckland House School happens to be one of the oldest residential schools for girls in the country that was started by Rev JB.d’ Aguilar in the Shimla in 1864.

The school first came up in 1866 at Holly Lodge on Jakhu Hill. Presently Holly Lodge happens to be the private resident of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.

In 1968 1868 the Auckland House estate was bought and the school was shifted to the current premises on November 6, 1869. The school is named after Lord Auckland, the then Governor General of India.

    firstly Auckland is a co-ed institution dont ever think it is only for girls -_-
    secondly there are only 2 girls schools in shimla which are Loreto Convent Tara Hall and Convent of Jesus and Mary, Chelsea so stop being blind and open your eyes because Auckland House School suckssss….xxPP

    Auckland is not co-educational school ,there is a separate girls wings and a boys wing .No doubt there are many girl schools in shimla but if you are looking for top finishing school for your kids then you must consider the best….AUCKLAND HOUSE SCHOOL
