Girls bag top 10 positions in Himachal Pradesh University BA course

Shimla: Leaving the boys behind, the top 10 positions in the BA Pass course, the results for which were announced today bu HPU, were bagged by girl students.

In top position was Akshita Dhiman of St Bede’s College , Shimla with 85.1 %

In second position was Madhu Bala of Govt College, Ghumarwin with 83 %;

In third was Deepika Sharma of Deen Dayal Degree College, Mehre with 82.6 %;

In fourth was Pooja Devi of Govt College, Ghumarwin with 82.5 %;

In fifth position was Koshika of Pt ARSD College, Baroh with 82.4%;

In sixth position was Poonam Vishwas of Govt Degree College, Rampur with 82.3 %;

In seventh position was Aprajita Katoch of St Bede’s College, Shimla with 81.6%;

In eight position was Pooja Kumari of Degree College, Dhaneta with 81.1 %;

In ninth position was Usha Devi from Govt Degree College, Nadaun with 80.5%;

In tenth position was Neha Thakur from Govt Degree College, Sunni with 80.1 percent.

Overall out of the 25,127 students who took the BA pass course examination, 19,798 were declared to have passed the examination setting up a healthy 78.79 pass percentage.

However, it was in English subject that the pass percent was the least with only 13,557 out of 23,744 who were declared to have passed the subject where as the highest number to have passed in any subject were environmental studies as 1165 out of 1170 (99.57 %) were declared to have cleared the examination.

Besides English the highest number of students that had appeared in another subject was political science for 11,824 students had taken up the subject followed by history 8,458; Hindi 7449, Sociology 3446, Economics 3270, Sanskrit 2073, Geography 1958, Public Administration 1692, Environmental Studies, 1170, Physical Education 829, Music 808, Philosophy 493, Mathematics 455, Psychology 108, English Elective 74, Home Science 72, Applied Arts 69, Tourism and Travel Management 58, Painting 42, Computer Applications 27, Sculpture 23, Office Management 16, Communicative English 10 and 6 students had taken up dance for a subject in the BA course.
