The Spring Fling

Winter’s done and April’s in the skies. Spring is here and once again it’s time to update your wardrobe with the vibrant colours of the season. When it comes to fashion trends, flower power is the word this spring. Yes, the prints are back with a bang.

So its time to take out your floral fantasies and flaunt them. Your mom’s wardrobe could also be your biggest fashion source this season .The classic is in with light flowing fabrics, flared sleeves, layering and pleating, bringing back the relaxed glam of the 70s.

The 2012 spring is all set to make you feel like a princess. The good old and so feminine lace is back again. It will no longer be limited to the wedding dresses only. Lace is going to be used like never before.

It will be adorning anything from your evening gowns to skirts, handbags and even shoes. Expect to see a lot of stripes and bright colour blocking as well, as it is going to be another big spring fashion trend.

Coming to colours the spring fashion will burst out with vivid colours. Mint green is the colour to go for this spring. Blue is another one that’s going to rule. Neons are in like never before, bright blues, yellows and greens.

We ll see the neons sprinkled everywhere especially in the shoes, bags and belts. Orange, (yes you heard it right) is surprisingly out to make a bold statement in both men’s and women’s fashion.

Another classic statement piece to resuscitate is the crochet. So just have a look inside your closet and take out that crochet top stacked at the back shelf from years.

It’s going to make you get loads of compliments. In jewellery too it’s the classic look that’s in. The time defying pearls are there to adorn your neck, hands and ears.

Similar to women’s palette, men’s fashion too will sparkle with colours this spring. Dazzling blue, grass green, granite and tangerine tango are making a statement. Men’s fashion is both diverse and interesting.

With all the colours around, the camel and white will still be the safest bet for men. Vintage khakis being another favourite.

In tune with the laid back mood of the season, loose tailored clothing is the big trend in men’s fashion, expressing more freedom, fun and relaxation.

Monochromatic and combination both are a welcome trend. Double breast blazers are yet again being carried over to 2012.

They have always been popular for being a confidence booster as they broaden up the shoulders and thin the waist, therefore a must have thing in your wardrobe. In accessories we’ll see men’s clutches. A surprising trend but very much in.

Just add a touch of pink here, a splash of blue there, a few small changes paired with your old classics revived and you are all ready for your Spring Fling.
