Shimla : The Himachal Lokhit party (HLP) a breakaway party of the BJP has launched a blistering attack on the P.K.Dhumal led BJP government in Himachal Pradesh Tuesday saying it was “steeped in corruptionâ€.
“The state is run by the father son duo(Dhumal & Anurag) and they are protecting the corrupt ,†Maheshwar Singh president of the HLP party alleged at a large rally held in Shamshi near Kullu .
“Several ministers in the Dhumal government notably Bindal and some key state government officials are openly indulging in corruption ,†he alleged .
“The BJP will pay the price for protecting the corrupt in the forthcoming assembly polls ,†he warned .
Maheshwar Singh said with the formation of HLP a 1977 like wave was sweeping the state and the HLP was set to emerge as the third alternative .
He said the BJP’s veteran leader Shanta Kumar was standing by the HLP and could even join them soon .
“Shanta ji is not going on vanprast(into retirement) he will join us ,†he claimed .
Talking about senior BJP leader J.P. Nadda , Maheshwar Singh said he claims to be the Bhisham Pitama , but instead of joining the Kauravs(BJP) he should join us HLP(Pandavs) .
The rally was largely attended despite severe cold and rain . It was also addressed by other senior HLP leaders including ex-minister Radha Raman Shastri , Mohinder Sofat among others .
Dhairya Sushant , 29 , son of BJP dissident Kangra MP Rajan Sushant , made a surprise appearance at the rally . Dhairya was declared the president HLP’s youth wing .
