Shimla : Geeta Devi , the deputy excise and taxation commissioner in the industrial town of Parwanoo in Solan district has been caught accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh in her office .
The state’s vigilance officers laid a trap and caught the officer accepting the bribe Tuesday .
The lady officer had demanded a bribe to waiving off alleged VAT penalties in the accounts of a few pharma companies .
Reports said she was handling the matter despite not being authorised to do so .
A criminal case has been registered under the prevention of corruption act .
