Shimla : BSNL’s most popular prepaid 175 himpower plan in Himachal Pradesh is being further diluted as the unlimited free calling facility to any BSNL mobile within the state will soon end , say top officials .
The 175 himpower plan has so far been the most popular prepaid BSNL plan roping in lakhs of subscribers .
But customers began opting out of this plan late last year when unlimited free calling from mobiles to any BSNL landline and WLL numbers within the state was stopped .
Now it has been decided to end unlimited free calling from mobiles to any BSNL mobile numbers within the state from 28 March this year .
Officials say many other promotional prepaid mobile plans including those for students could also end soon .
With this decision the state run company is set to loose lakhs of customers who have this plan .
Along with Airtel , BSNL claims to have the largest number of mobile subscribers in the state . But with the diluting of the popular himpower plan many will move to other service providers .
In the crowded mobile market of Himachal Pradesh there are around a dozen service providers .
BSNL continues to loose landline customers as well , last year around 22,000 landline connections were surrendered .
BSNL is the only landline service provider in Himachal .
