Shimla Filmmaker Vivek Mohan on Cochin Film Festival Jury

Shimla boy Vivek Mohan, a Mumbai based filmmaker along with other known personalities is on the jury of Script 2012, a two-day film festival being organized by Rotary Club of Cochin Metropolis.
The film festival starting from 20th January will recognize and reward short films from across the world. These short films deal with issues that are of global relevance.
SCRIPT, an annual event in to its second edition, has attracted a lot of attention from filmmakers who compete in the categories, ‘Showcase Films’, ‘Films International Category’, ‘Filmmakers category’, ‘Documentaries’, ‘Students Category’ and ‘Two Minute –Mini- Ad Films Category’.
While there are 21 enteries in the Two minute category, 9 in the students category, 5 in the documentary category, 6 in the showcase category, 14 in the filmmakers category, there are a healthy 10 in the international category.
Filmmakers from Japan, Norway, Pakistan, Lebanon, Italy, Germany, USA, Iran, Spain and Turkey are competing in the international category.
Besides Mohan others on the jury include Anita Nair, the bestselling author; Reavthy Menon, a known stage and film actress who has acted in more than 100 films and also directed films; Bina Paul Venugopal, an alumni of Film and TV Institute of India, Pune who has been working as a film editor for the last twenty years; Sophy Sivaraman, CEO of Sophodok a documentary distribution company; and Jose Dominic, Chairman of CII, Kerala region and also a member of National Tourism Advisory Council.
Vivek Mohan is a national Award winning Director and Script writer with an experience of over 22 years in Documentary Film Making.
He was a member of the 5 member national jury to select non-feature films, documentaries, short features and animation films for the prestigious Indian Panorama at the 41st International Film Festival of India at Goa in November- December 2011.
Speaking to Hill Post, Mohan said, “such film festivals go a long way in creating awareness among the general public about social issues and encourage young filmmakers to bring out hidden talent.â€
