Dharamsala : Tenzin Phuntsok , a former Tibetan monk who self-immolated in protest against Chinese rule in eastern Tibet has died , the Tibetan government-in-exile said here Friday .
Phuntsok died has self-immolated on Dec 1 , his last rites were performed by his family on Friday . He died at a hospital in Chamdo on Dec 6 .
The wife of Phuntsok is already under arrest by the Chinese authorities and could not attend his cremation, the spokesman said .
