Amritsar: Border police stumbled upon about 15 Kgs of contraband heroin near the fenced India-Pakistan border here today.
The drugs are said to have been lying hidden under ground and are suspected to be meant for delivery to Punjab and Delhi drug cartels.
Valued at several crores in the international market, a official of Border Security Force (BSF) said, “ the drug consignment was cleverly hidden close to the barbed wire border fence.â€
Police suspect that the heroin was smuggled out of Afghanistan and was either meant for delivery in India.
