Dharamsala : A Tibetan Buddhist monk in a monastery in eastern Tibet has set himself on fire Tuesday , reports reaching here said .
Dawa Tsering , a young monk self-immolated at 9 :30 in the morning during an annual religious event in Kaze .
“By-standers heard him shouting long live the Dalai Lama .The other slogans he raised were not heard in the commotion,†a spokesman of the Tibetan government-in-exile said here .
He was immediately taken to hospital but his condition remains unknown .
There have been a spate of self-immolations and deaths in recent months by Tibetans protesting against Chinese rule in Tibet .
