CII to hold apple workshop in Kinnaur on Nov 5

Shimla : The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising a workshop on apple in the tribal district of Kinnaur this weekend .
“Called ‘Apple Practicum 2011’ the one day event will be held on 5 Nov at Rekong Peo, headquarters of Kinnaur district ,†Neeta Chauhan , CII Head Shimla office told the Hill Post here Monday .
“We will cover orchard management , rejuvination of orchards , post harvest management , WTO , cold chain among other topics at the workshop,†she said .
Kinnaur produces some of the best apple in India.
CII is expecting to gather 250 apple farmers at the meet among other experts in the field , organisers said .
In September CII had organised similar workshops at Kotgarh and Kotkhai , two well known apple growing areas of Shimla district .
