Team Austria lead at 13th Raid De Himalaya on Day Three

Team Austria with three of its bikers among the top five positions at the end of day three of the Raid de Himalaya which ended at Leh, late on Thursday, were leading the X-treme team event, according to the provisional results declared by the organizers.
Leading the cross country road race for the highest elevation motorsport event in the world was Helmunt Frauwallner with a total penalty timing of 5.05.37. In second place was Ashish Moudhgil with a timing of 5.17.11, in third place was Suresh Babu with a timing of 5.48.13.
In fourth and fifth place were two brothers from Team Austrian brothers Gottifreid Lehner and Johann Lehner with a timing of 5.56.14 and 6.00.35. The top five positions have been held by the bikers.
Among the four wheel category, Manali lad Suresh Rana, in a Gypsy and a veteran winner of many Raids, was leading in the X-treme category with a total penalty of 6.12.34.
He was followed by last years Raid winner in the category Major Amaninder Brar with total penalties of 6.12.34, at third position was Sandeep Sharma with total penalties of 6.16.46 and in fourth position was Harkaran Singh with a total penalty of 6.17.01 at the end of Day Three.
On Day four the Raid headed out from Leh to Kargil and after passing Parkachik will close at Rangdum.
On the fifth day the rally does a loop from Rangdum, Penzi La, Pandum to return to Rangdum.
On the last day Raid after starting from Rangdum goes through Kargil, Dras and ends at Srinagar, where the winners’ ceremony will be held on 17th October.
