BCS to hold festival of disabled children on Sept 23 , 24

Shimla : Over 178 disabled children from across Himachal Pradesh will take part in the 12 th festival of the differently abled this this week at Bishop Cotton School (BCS) , Shimla, organisers said Thursday .
The festival will be held for two days on Friday and Saturday.
“The events have been planned so that all children no matter what the disability, hearing , visual impairment , mental or physical disabilities can take part wholeheartedly in a stress free and non-competitive atmosphere ,†said Dorothy I Robinson , head junior school .
Sporting events , a cultural show and a special mela for these special children are the highlights of the two day event .
On the opening day the festival will start with arrival of the participating schools from all over Himachal . The children will be accommodated in the junior school premises . A cultural show will be held at 5 P.M. in the evening .
On the last day of the festival the day will begin with a march past followed by sporting events . The festival ends at 2 P. M.
The learning centre of BCS is providing a comprehensive programme on functional academics , social skills , activities of daily living , communication skills and pre-vocational skills to enable them to face the world and integrate with children in regular classes .
