Shimla :In the wake of the sentence passed out by a Solan court to a controversial state government who is seen close to Himachal Pradesh’s health minister Rajeev Bindal the CPM on Thursday asked for Bindal to step down at once.
“It has been proved that the present health minister has proximity to Sher Singh who was nabbed on serious corruption charges by the anti corruption bureau. The drug controller was soon reinstated by setting all norms aside,†alleged Tikender Singh Panwar, member CPM state secretariat.
“This was also confirmed by an RTI filed by an activist which unambigously mentions that the tainted official was restored by health minister Bindal,†Panwar said.
The CPIM says even the state high court was shocked to note how a tainted official like Sher Singh was reinstated. The court forced the state government to furnish details of all those officers who have been indicted and reinstated.
Panwar said he was surprised that despite the drug controller was given a three years sentence strangely the present assignment of Sher Singh was that of Registrar, pharmacy council at Shimla.
The CPIM believes that Bindal has no moral right to stay in power as his intervention has been proven wrong by the court that has convicted the concerned officer.
“This amply shows that there definitely was a strong bond between the two men,†Panwar said.
