Taiwanese woman found hanging in Dharamsala

Police is probing the death of a Taiwanese woman who was found hanging in her room on Wednesday in the resort town of Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh.

Police was called in by the owner of the house where this woman was staying and wasn’t reponding to the door bell. When the police broke in she was found hanging from a celing fan.

Police said Tsengjai-jai a 35 year old woman had arrived in India over six weeks ago on a tourist visa and was to remain here till September.

She is said to be a follower of the Tibetan spiritual leader Oygen Trinley Dorje the 17 th Karmapa Lama and was staying close to his monastery in lower part of Dharamsala.

“She was found hanging from the ceiling with a nylon rope,but no suicide note was found,” said Diljeet Thakur, Kangra police chief.

Lamas at the monastery said the Taiwanese woman was a regular visitor to the Tibetan monastery.The Karmapa has a large following in Taiwan.
