Shimla: With the state government unable to scout for a successor to outgoing vice-chancellor SK Gupta, of Himcahal Pradesh University, Governor Urmila Singh, who is chancellor of the institution, has constituted a search committee to recommend names for the position.
The search committee would be headed by chief secretary Rajwant Sandhu, said a government spokesman. Academicians, Vice-chancellors of state and central universities have been asked to recommend name of eminent educationists with sound administrative acumen by end of month, he added.
Till a new VC is appointed, incumbent would continue to function in the position, said the spokesman.
