Annual prize distribution function of P.G.Centre HP University Shimla

Shimla: Annual Prize Distribution function of the Post-graduate Centre at H.P. University was held here-today which was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sunil Kumar Gupta. Dean of Studies Prof. C.L. Chandan was also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sunil Kumar Gupta said that emphasis would be given to solve the problems on priority. He said that excellence in academic always pave a way for bright future of the student and students would take the academics as their prime motto. He said that talented students always are assets for any of the University & Institutions and the results of JRF & NET this year are very encouraging for our University. He said that efforts are afoot to fill-up the vacant teaching posts so that the studies of the students do not suffer in the next academic session.

The Vice-Chancellor said that basic facilities at the Post-graduate Centre would be strengthened. He said that even in the summer season minimum quantity of water would be supplied in the hostels, campus and residential area. He said that stressed have been laid for uniform syllabus and curriculum so that our students could compete, the others at National level.

Prof. Y.P. Sharma, Dean Students Welfare highlighted the activities of the student’s welfare. As many as 245 students in academics, 37 in cultural activities and 25 in sports were honoured by the Vice-Chancellor. He also presented certificates and mementos to the students who qualified NET/JRF. 30 students were also honoured who participated in sports activities conducted by the Students Central Association (Campus). S.C.A. office bearers were also present and President Gaurav Thakur and General Secretary Kususm also spoke on the occasion.

Deans, Directors and Chairpersons were also present on the occasion.
