Shimla: Shimla Muncipal Corporation is making preparation for commencing summer tourist season. In a meeting with Commissioner Municipal Corporation, A.N.Sharma, Director Tourism Dr.Arun Sharma, requested the MC Shimla to install two laser lights and eight high-mast lights in Shimla City besides improving the roads coming under their jurisdiction before the tourist season. He added that the tourism department has sanctioned a sum of Rs.53 lacs for the installation of these lights.
Though, early summer seems to extend the tourist season proving beneficial to the Himachal Tourism.
Areas where the eight high mast lights would be installed at Victory Tunnel, Bus Stand, near lift, Lakkar Bazaar Bus Stand, Tutikandi Bye-Pass, New Shimla, SDA Complex Kasumpati and Chotta Shmla. This would cost 40 lakh rupees. Two laser lights would be installed at New Shimla and near Doordarshan Kendra, Shimla and Chaura Maidan at a cost of Rs.13 lacs.
