Himachal Cabinet Nod for 6 Five Star Hotel Sites

Shimla: The Himachal cabinet at its meeting on Tuesday approved 6 sites for setting up five star hotels even as it granted not for launching e-stamping system for collected of stamp duty in two districts.
Presided over by chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, the cabinet approved development of sites a Baddi, Baragaon (15 Km from Manali), Suketi in Sirmaur district, Jhatingri in Mandi district, Shoja in Banjar block of Kullu and a site in Bilaspur for setting up 5 to 7 star hotels and resorts.
Land ranging from 3 to 380 bighas available at these sites had the potential to attract investments from Rs 50 crore to Rs 300 crore, said the cabinet spokesman.
The cabinet approved appointing Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited as the authorized agency to sell stamp papers electronically even as it decided to introduce E-stamping system for collection of stamp duty on pilot basis in the districts of Shimla and Solan. The facility would be extended to rest of the State in a phased manner, said the spokesman.
It was decided to introduce Minimum Wage Act, 1948 in private sector as well daily wages to such labourers was also raised to Rs 110, bringing it at par with others.
The cabinet constitutes a sub-committee consisting of 5 ministers to be headed by the revenue minister for studying a proposal to amendment the HP Lease Rules, 1993. The sub-committee has been asked to submit its report in the next cabinet meeting.
Municipal Corporation, Shimla was authorized to develop parking slots at Sanjauli, Chhota ShimlA and, Lift area under PPP mode.
The education department proposal to engage 25 students who had undergone a Teachers Training Course at St. Bede’s College, Shimla, against the posts of JBT on contract basis was approved.
A proposal to construct two doctors hostel at Lakkar Bazar was approved by the cabinet.
