Shimla: A frantic search for the culprit, who had entered a girls house four days ago with a murderous intention and had smashed a bottle on her head, led the police to find his body from a nallah at Churat village, near Shimla.
Police chief RM Sharma said, “a search party found the body of Pankaj (25), the boy from Balog, Kotkhai whom the police were looking for, from Churat nallah, near Shimla in the afternoon, today.”
Students organizations which included SFI, ABVP and NSUI had been holding demonstrations for the past three days seeking his immediate arrest after Pankaj was named as the prime suspect involved attacking Ritu Verma, a girl studying at RKMV college in the city, at her residence.
“It appears to be a suicide case as the first reports suspect the death to have been caused by poisoning,” said Sharma.
