Spice Digital ties up with Zoom Developers for Himachal mobile government services

Shimla: Spice Digital has entered into an agreement with Zoom Developers, a IT concern, for starting mobile governance services from common service centre being run by Zoom.
The MOU was signed between Vinish Kathuria, CEO, Spice Digital and AK Tiwari, Head e-Governance Zoom Developers in presence of Dilip Modi, chairman Spice Televentures during Himachal Day function organised at India International Trade fair 2009 at Pragati Maidan in Delhi, today.
On the occasion Dilip Modi, said that Himachal was one of the first state to effectively implement mobile governance. Under the MOU, Spice Digital would provide the value added services through 600 common service centres set up by Zoom Developers in Hamripur, Una, Chamba and, Kangra Districts.
He said that the strength of common service centres will be increased to around 1000 and on an average one such centre would be set up for six villages which will be run by village youths on business models trained by the company .
He told that under the agreement the citizens would be provided multiple services like government to citizens, Business to Citizens and Business to Business Services.
He said that citizens will be required to register themselves with Common Service Centres for multiple services and Spice Digital will provide all the services to the registered customers through Mobile Governance.
Information relating to Agriculture, Horticulture, Weather Report, Govt Schemes, Educations etc will be provided to the citizens through these centres. Registered citizens will be regularly provided the services on their mobiles on the nominal charges starting from one rupee, he said.
Modi also announced launch of “SPICE GUIDE TO HIMACHAL” scheme under which all mobiles having GPRS facilities in the world will be able get varied Information on Himachal Pradesh on their handsets and added that it will help in generating the publicity about Himachal Tourism worldwide.
Non resident Indians and foreigners would be able to get all the information about the state in their Countries.
Now visitors from India, US, Canada, UK, Australia, Middle East, and many more countries can get to know more about the beautiful state of Himachal Pradesh from the comfort of their Mobile Phones,” said Modi
Besides being available on multiple application stores globally, it can be downloaded using Mobile Phone’s browser from www.getapp.in/himachal, he added.
