Shimla: M/S Destination limited has made a proposal for setting up of a Himachal Food & Craft Center on Kalka-Shimla National Highway near Destination Hotel, a spokesperson of the Tourism department informed.

He further informed that a meeting of the Tourism Department was held here today under the Chairmanship of Principal Secretary, Tourism Smt. Manisha Nanda. Representatives of M/S Destination Ltd. also participated in the meeting and it was decided that food court, handicraft & handloom center, amphitheatre, shopping baazar and public amenities would be provided in the in the proposed Food & Craft Center. The Center will display and promote the rich Himachali culture and handloom and agricultural and horticultural products.

Director, Tourism, Special Secretary Tourism and Joint Secretary, Tourism were also present in the meeting.

Another “Hawai Kila” for tourism Promotion in Himachal !

Where are other declarations by our so called Hi-Fi leaders and tourism department officers? where are Handicrafts and handlooms centers that were proposed at dharamshala region in in previous government??? Make a survey and ask these so called slef styled “tourism promoters” that do they actually know which are handlooms and crafts of Himachal? take a quiz and they cant even tell the names of famous designs that are crafted in Shawls of Kullu and Kinnaur.

Shekh chilli declarations that eventually turn out “big flops” are part and parcel of Himachal Tourism Promotion. Ask Manisha Nanda Ji to have a look at service and standards at tourism department offices at Kullu where when contacted for Lavi Fair booking at Rampur..the attendents didnt even know that which month this fair is held !

Such brigade & army of tourism promotion and marketing employees will surely promote fantasies regarding tourism ! mark this date in calender and have a recheck after 365 days, this scheme will be lost in declarations like the previous ones !

Tourism issues seem to be fantasy where everyone comes with a Hi-FI-Ultra-New-Idea that never sees completion ! Ski Village – Rope ways-Handloom Promotion..now what next ?

I too have an idea for our tourism promotion in Himachal — Invite Aliens from Space to set up a colony here.. which tourists from whole world will come to see !!! really interesting … isnt it?
