Shimla: A two month old boy died and five others sustained injuries when the vehicle they were travelling in lost control and went off the road within the city in the early hours on Friday morning.
Abhi, a two month old boy died on the spot when the Scorpio SUV (HP-48-0009) he was in went off the road near Tunnel No 103 of the Shimla-Kalka rail track in the city, police said.
The injured included, driver Biaditya (33), Nasim (33), Shahil (19), Sameem (19) and Manju Sharma (15). The accident occurred at about 4 a.m. when the vehicle was approaching the city from the Kalka – Shimla highway.
All residents are said to be from Chamba and the accident occurred in all probability occurred due to the driver being overtaken by sleep, police said.
