CNBC Awaaz confers best travel award to Himachal

Shimla: Based on a comprehensive study conducted by India’s research agency Synovate, premier channel CNBC Awaz picked Himachal as the Best State CNBC Awaaz Travel Award for the year 2009.
The award, given by the CNBC, is for the best in class organization, destinations infrastructure and service providers based on an objective and comprehensive study conducted by the research agency.
Manisha Nanda, secretary tourism said that the hill capital, Shimla has declared the Best Mountain /Hill Destination by CNBC, AWAAZ for 2009.

The source of the story was a Himachal government release which quoted Manisha Nanda, secretary tourism, being informed by CNBC about the award won,
Other than that there is no independent source which could verify the claim and there is no reason why the government claim should be disputed.
