Taming the taxi wallas in Himachal is an herculean task. The govt till date has not been able to implement the meter taxi system in any of the cities properly. Radio taxi can be a good option but only if this is operated by a company. It will be easier to keep a check on company’s way of functioning rather than having a body of individual taxi drivers like taxi union. Wishing every bit of luck to the tourim Commissioner in her endeavor. Previous experiences of dealing with taxi unions/drivers have proved to be damp squib.
