Himachal approves 13 investment proposals worth Rs 342 Crore

Shimla: High level single window clearance authority on Saturday approved 6 new industrial projects and permitted expansion plans of 7 existing units.

The project cleared by the authority entail fresh investment worth Rs 342.31 crore and are expected to generate 1900 new jobs, a government spokesman said.

The six new units entail investment proposals of Rs 167.55 crore and the expansion plans of 7 units would bring about additional investment of Rs 174.76 Crore, he said.

The new projects cleared include a Rs 23.32 crore auto component manufacturing unit by Micro Turner in Solan district and a Rs 13.14 crore unit by BP Ergo. A proposal by Mahle Filter System (India) and Saboo Alloys also stood approved.

Speaking on the occasion chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal asked for motivating industrial units to set up environment friendly and employment generating units.

“In view the degrading environment conditions the world over, all precautionary measures are needed to be taken to slow down the impact of global warming. Industrialists needed to be motivated to incorporate anti-polluting devices into their plants so that the green house gases produced during manufacturing process were minimised,” he said.

About the state industrial package being extended beyond March 2010, the chief minister said that every effort was being made to restore the terms to its original package till 2013.

Besides, director industries Manoj Kumar those present at the meet included chief secretary Asha Swaroop, additional chief secretary, Parminder Mathur and Ms. Harinder Hira, principal secretary environment Sarojini G.Thakur, principal secretary power Subhash Negi, principal secretary, P Mitra, principal secretary to chief minister Bhim Sen, principal secretary Arvind Mehta, secretary tourism Manisha Nanda, director pollution control board Nagin Nanda and industrial advisor Rajender Chauhan.
