Himachal for Toll Free Women Helpline and Special Fast Track Courts

Shimla: In the State Women Council Meeting Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, took another step to empower women of the State by soon opting to introduce a Toll Free Women Helpline in Panchayati Raj Department. This helpline is introduced for prompt redressal of women grievances and honoring them for their outstanding contribution towards women empowerment.
He added that Toll Free telephone Number 1800 180 8005 was already operational for NREGA where complaints were also being registered for different activities being undertaken by the department, including complaints relating to women atrocities.
This step was taken to uplift the women and not termed as weaker sex.
Along with this he added that efforts are being made to convene Special Fast Track Courts to resolve the cases relating to women atrocities to deliver them prompt justice.
