Himachal National sportspersons to travel in 3-tier AC – Anurag

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh Olympic Association (HPOA) looking ahead to promote sports in the state decided to organize a State Olympic Mela.

Anurag Thakur, General Secretary of the HPOA, in a press conference said that National level sportspersons will get to travel in three tier AC rather than second class and good quality track suits, spikes and ceremonial kits alongwith mats and boxing rings for various indoor games will also be provided to the sportspersons to ensure better performance.

He said, “If need be we will hire national level professional coaches so that out youth can excel in various sports.”

President of HPOA plus Forest Minister, J.P.Nadda, revealed that presently the holding of the Olympic Mela was delayed because the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) delayed grant of recognition to their body.

Raised in Shimla and originally from Mandi district, Disha wears many caps which includes being part of a lead team of a fast growing IT company based out of Chandigarh. Earlier Disha was associated with My Himachal and visits Shimla regularly.
