RTI Debate by Censud & My Himachal in Mandi

Mandi: In a series of declamation contests on Right to Information( RTI) Act  being organised by Centre for Sustainable Development in association with My Himachal today, competitions were held in  Govt. Degree College Basa, Govt. Senior Secondary School Drang and Vijay memorial College of Education,Ner Chowk.
At Degree College Basa whole of the college students were present along with staff members and SCA Office bearers. While presiding over the function Principal Krishan Vaid said this act has a potential to revolutionize the way country is governed. It can ensure people’s participation in developmental activities and they can keep a check on the way public funds are spent. Students enthusiastically participated in the declamation contest and highlighted the way it can be used to strengthen our democracy.
At Govt. Sen. Secondary School, Drang, Jai Singh Yadav, Principal of the school while presiding over the function appreciated the efforts of Censud and My Himachal and said that such awareness programmes will go a long way in ensuring common man’s participation in administration.
While at Vijay Memorial College of Education Chairman of the college Gaurav Marwaha was the Chief Guest and Dr. D.P. Kapoor presided over the function. Gaurav Marwaha lauded the efforts of My Himachal volunteers who despite being far away from their motherland are running a blog to keep updates of activities going on in their  home state.
Principal Dr. Kapoor appreciated the efforts of Censud who is coordinating with like minded NGO’s like My Himachal and various Govt. agencies in ensuring the implementation of developmental programmes.
