Shimla: An alarm about a suspicious bomb like object in Nihalgarh village near Poanta Sahib of Sirmaur district on Thursday morning brought out the police bomb diffusing squad, only to learn that somebody had played mischief.
The police grappled with the situation for about four hours after the suspicious object with some wires was noticed attached to the shutter on a shop in the area.
SR Mardi, IG law and order said that there was no cause for alarm as the object contained some fire crackers, an old diffused battery, wires and was made to look like a bomb.
The police were investigating the matter, he said.
