More then 1540 crores lost in floods in Himachal

[lang_en]Himachal Pradesh lost approximately 1,541 crores during the floods announced Chief Minister, P.K.Dhumal.

Weather played a key role as due to the prolonged rainy season, some 1,41,572 hectares of agricultural crop and 12,988 hectares of horticultural area had been affected while the crop loss has been valued at Rs. 199.47 crore and horticulture loss valued at Rs. 204.60 crore. Himachal government had disbursed relief fund of 106 crores amongst the deputy commissioners and different departments out of its own resources, he said with the concluding rainy season the estimates were likely to increase.

Chief Minister directed the deputy commissioners to give top priority to public grievances redressal and to make sure that no commodity being provided under public distribution system was misused and smuggled out of the state. He also advised them to provide LPG to the people in Kinnaur and Spiti valley through Rohtang and Kunzam pass since the national highway at Malling Nallah had been blocked for quite some time.

He asked the law enforcing agencies to nab anti social elements and deal with them strictly![/lang_en]
