North Zonal Council Meet Postponed

The Northern Zonal Council meet that was scheduled to be held here on Monday, has been postponed, a government spokesman said.
The meeting was to be chaired by the home minister Shivraj Patil. The last meeting of the council was held on 25th October, 2005.
The issues before the council that were to be discussed at the meet included internal security, police modernization, communal harmony and disaster management.
Other than Patil, the others who were scheduled to attend the meet included chief ministers of Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi, Governor of Jammu & Kashmir and Administrator of union territory Chandigarh.
In all there are five zonal councils which act as advisory bodies to provide common meeting ground to the states and union territories in each zone.
