KUMARHATTI: Dheeraj Kumar (30) a resident of Dagshai, 4-km from here is battling for life after the doctors at PGI have asked to replace his kidney within two weeks time. Unable to arrange the cost of the operation which is 4 to 5 lakhs for kidney transplantation, Dheeraj and his family are now really expecting some Samaritans to help them in coming out of this trauma.
Dheeraj was diagnosed with the kidney problem in 2003. His both kidneys have been found damaged. His father, Ratan Lal Gupta who ran a newspaper agency at Dagshai could not bear the shock and died in same year. While Dheearaj was operated upon at PGI in 2003 where his mother, Lalita Devi gave her one kidney. Ironically after 5-year the mother’s transplanted kidney also got damaged.
Now for Dheeraj surviving the kidney transplantation is a must. Dheeraj, the father of two kids of aged 5-year and 2-year is now unable to run his small rented shop in Dagshai market due to his bad condition. The economic condition of Dheeraj family has gone from bad to worse due to the heavy expenses incurred on his medicines. Dheeraj is the sole bread earner for his family.
