Himachal government to implement Gramin Parivahan Swarozgar Yojna soon

Boasting of its initiatives, P.K.Dhumal, the Chief Minister said that the state government has been providing free and concessions on traveling to different sections of society which can be valued at 63.50 crores annually.
He also said that the students of government, private schools and government employees were being issued concession on traveling while the police personnel, jail wardens, handicapped, members of Parliament, members of Legislative Assembly, former MPs, former MLAs, war widows, gallantry award winners, Padamshree Awardees, thalassaemic patients, orphan students, press correspondents, state awardee teachers, cancer patients, multi-fracture injuries, parents of unmarried posthumous gallantry award winners were the categories who were being provided free traveling facilities. He further said that some 1866 HRTC buses were providing services even on the most un-economic routes just for the welfare of people.
He announced that the state government would soon be launching the Gram Parivahan Swarozgar Yojna under which the unemployed youth would be provided permits for operating buses and light transport vehicles while the driving license and vehicle registration system would be modernized.
He also directed the authorities to have a strict vigilance over their regional transport officers for checking of rules related to pollution and traffic.
