Gram Panchayat offices to remain open from 10 to 5 in Himachal

The Panchayati Raj department has been asked to ensure that the offices of Gram Panchayat should remain open on all the working days from 10 a.m to 5 p.m at par with the other Government offices.
The step has been taken to ensure daily working of Gram Panchayat offices, Government has already decided to post Panchayat Sahayaks in those Gram Panchayats where Panchayat Secretaries were not appointed. He further said that process to recruit 225 Panchayat Sahayaks through Panchayat Samitis has already been initiated. This decision of the Government will benefit the rural people on one hand and will strengthen the Panchayati Raj System on the other, he added.
All the Panchayat Pradhans in the state have also been asked to ensure daily attendance of Panchayat Secretary and Panchayat Sahayak at the Gram Panchayat Headquarters.
