Prem Kumar Dhumal, the Chief Minister released a book of ‘Ghazals’ titled ‘Thoroughfare’ authored by Himachal Pradesh Sahitya Academy Award winner for poetry-Kanwar Dinesh Singh, a senior lecturer in English here.
The book is a collection of verses which is an innovative and unique experimentation with the genre of ghazals in English, duly maintaining the typical emotive content, tenderness of feeling, subtle lyricism, linguistic felicity and structural ingenuity as one finds in the ghazals in Urdu and Hindi. Various subjects that have been touched by the poet are society, life, love, ethics and several existential concerns. This is the ninth poetry book authored by Dr. Kanwar Dinesh Singh.
In another event, the Chief Minister released a book ‘Aastha Ka Kavi – Acharya Vishnukant Shastri’ authored by Dr. Paritosh Bailago, a book about the personality of a great patriot, thinker and intellectual late Dr. Vishnukant Shastri.
