CPI (M) stages protests against rising prices

The rising fuel prices have became a headache for almost everyone but the recent hike was enough to fuel the CPI (M) as they staged a protest on the Mall Road. The party workers in order to make sure that their message reached the government volunteered arrest as Mall Road has remained a ‘no protest zone’ since the time of the British.

Sanjay Chauhan, the state secretary CPI (M) said “The state government is doing nothing to save the common man from the oil shock which the central government has forced down.” Stressing on the case of labor class, he added that the situation is being made worse by the BJP government. The protesters demanded reduction in custom duty on petroleum products and sales tax as well.
